Arrowdale Skate Spot

 Arrowdale Skate Spot

375 Rawdon St
Brantford, ON
A fantastic little spot in a redeveloped community park with a playground, splash pad, washrooms, trails and dog park.
I have only 2 real critiques but I would not be bummed if this was my local.
Park 617! Let's Go!
Hi! It was a really nice day

The spot features a QP, Ledge, Bank to Ledge and a fantastic central feature.  I does not have a flat rail.
The central feature has slappy sides, a long low ledge, bank to bank with coping making everything perfect for ride-on grinds and slappys.

Perfect QP. I would have liked more deck. I don't know why the back of the decks are beveled but I like the look of it.

Perfect Ledge.
One thing I would have done is inset the ledge 6-12" to hit the back side like Pefferlaw.

Happy Earth Week!

If there's a tree, I'm going to climb it.
I give it a 7/10.
A flat rail would have made it 8/10.

Brantford Rotary Bike Park

Brantford Rotary Bike Park

Brantford Rotary Bike Park is located at 390 Grand River Ave. Lots of parking. Open May to October.
I didn't get to ride the park.  There's nothing for skateboards and even if I had a bike, it was closed with work being done on the dirt jumps.  It looks like lots of fun and I wanted to add it to the Pump Track & Bike Park directory.

Seaton Rec All-wheel Park Design Sesh Follow-up

Seaton Rec All-wheel Park Design Sesh Follow-up

On another rainy night, locals met up for the one and only in-person gathering for Seaton Rec's All-wheel Park hosted by Newline Skatepark.

Nice to see both Stefan and Bill.

The night was handled like Design Meeting 2. This will be the only meeting.

The crew was pretty solid in that we're already getting a street style/tech skatepark in the core so we were all for more transition.

 Ontario Skateboarding

I've joined the board of Ontario Skateboarding as the Advocacy Chair. I'm going to keep doing what I always do; Stick my nose in where it belongs but wasn't invited.

Public Service Announcement!
Ontario Skateboarding is proud to share that the Board of Directors has expanded.
Scott Loyst - Advocacy Chair
@spotttheloonie
Scott has spent the last 15 years advocating for skateboarding. His blog, Spott Dreams of Skateparks’, boasts over 600 skateparks across Canada and the US. The blog features skateparks profiles with detailed pictures of the parks he visits as well as a skaters POV on quality of the build and history of the park. He provides insights on repair options and feedback on where the local community should invest, whether it be temporary fixes or long-term investments. His photos are used by Skatepark Companies, other advocates and communities for their skatepark projects.
He has selflessly given his time and perspective to encourage others to visit the existing parks and has also taken it upon himself to reach out to specific municipalities to offer consulting services free of charge to achieve a better investment for the community. He founded the Pickering Skateparks Alliance (IG @PickeringSkateparksAlliance) which has produced results in Pickering, Durham region and beyond. He has acted as a freelance consultant for skatepark projects in Milverton and Burford, Ontario. All this while raising a famliy and working full time as a Paramedic!
