Seaton Rec Skatepark - Part 6

Seaton Rec Skatepark - Part 6

Well, it's actually my part 3 but there was also the city putting the project on hold for a year and then bringing it back.  Somehow, it's still on track for a 2029-2030 opening.

The Pickering Community Skatepark is also happening this year (as long as Hydro approves the design under the power lines).
Draft - some mods have been made.

PCS is being created as a more technical street style skatepark with a small bowl.
Because of this, locals are pushing for Seaton to feature more flow, transition and a pump track (or pt elements) and a small street section. We're pushing the city to also ask the designer to focus on this direction as it begins consultations.

The recent meeting was an overall design unveil that shows the layout of the Rec Centre features and placement of outdoor amenities.
When I arrived I spotted the placeholder blob for the skatepark and remarked 'That doesn't look like a community sized skatepark.'  Richard (good guy, city staff) replied 'That's 12000sqft.  It's the same size as the triple basketball court gymnasium'
I Stand Corrected

The host was apologetic there wasn't more about the park but assured us (Matt and I) that detailed design sessions with NewLine would be soon.  We weren't worried. We wanted to get the city on our side with the Flow/Tranny direction of the project.

So here's what we want.

A simple street area with core features.

Some Sweet Transition
with all the bells and whistles.
I'd love a double bowl that are connected by a spine and an extension.

FLOW!

Here's some other sources of inspo...

Hey, NL already has done some of the leg work with their Ajax project.
