Thornton, ON

 Thornton, ON

Thornton Community Centre

246 Barrie St

Essa Township made a double deal for the Thornton Pump Track and the new Angus Skatepark & Pump Track in one RFP.

THEN

A year later realized there was a service need for a skatepark in Thornton and a pump track in Baxer so another RFP.

Different RFP's Different years. Different locations.  Different facilities I can add to the list.

The 2026 Skatepark

CRC is still putting out this and it seams like they're getting lazier.  There were at least 4 uneven joints where one transition panel was sitting higher than the other.
STOMP!
Fixed
Positives - Decent layout.  The 'A' isn't pushed to the edge of the park. There's space to hit the back of the sofa.
Negatives - It's Loud. No Flat Ledge. No Flat Bar.
Don't you dare try telling me that 'The Sofa' is a ledge.

The Sofa is 2' high with a 2' wide, 14" high 'ledge'.
The entire thing is powder coated giving the surfaces the consistency of 100grit sandpaper. Being brand new, my nose had quite a close shave on the first nose slide.

Gotta love the fine details.

I like the spine section but there's another large wasted area behind the QP.

The 2025 Pump Track

What's up with putting PT's on grass.

The imperfect lawn leads to larger gaps between modules.

It's gonna be interesting when the inside of the track needs to be mowed.
