Osgoode

Osgoode Skatepark
5560 Osgoode Main St

Metal Ramps in a decent configuration.

I 💔 gaps.

First trick of the day. Warm-up boardslide. Wheel hit the bolt and I fell. Just what I wanted after a four hour drive.

Concrete precast ramps laid out in a triangle with semi-skatable seating in the middle. Kids playground, walking track, sport court and shopping all nearby.

Who doesn't love a 4 foot drop where there should be a hip?  All other drops have safety rails.

The Perils of Pre-fab.  Missing Fillers.

Another terrible 'Military & Family only' skatepark.

Old SOLO ramps on an asphalt pad. This big bank provided too much speed for the box.

What happened to the other half of the flat bar?

This box is a neat feature but has design flaws.  Why not have it beveled to the ground on both sides? Even with 3/4 inch thick plastic, it's cracked in multiple places.

A great example of 'skate urbanism' - Including skateable elements into the public space.

Unfortunately, the construction by the general contractor leaves a lot to be desired.

A lack of knowledge and care went into the build so the final product fell far below industry standard.

The GC placed large seams in the worst spots (top of the stairs and in other landing zones), didn't set the qp coping correctly and left concrete everywhere (on the coping and lumps on the flat).  The ENTIRE park is broom finished, even the QP.

Not one to complain, I hit the park with concrete sealer, pavers and the angle grinder to fix up what I could and have a sesh.  It may not be perfect but it's a fun little street spot with lights!
