Everything Happening in Toronto
RIGHT NOW!
There's a lot happening.
(Updated as often as I can)
You just gotta know where to look.
TORONTO Parks Website I got all this info from.
Here is a map of all the Toronto Skateparks and Projects.
The other day (in Dec 2024) I posted that there are 225 current Toronto Parks & Facilities projects. I went through all of them and this is what I found. There were 2 additional projects that had skate features cut due to lack of support. All Timelines subject to change.
I'd like the city to remember, as it's banning US firms from bidding on projects under $8million, that Canadian Ramp Company is part of American Ramp Company and still often bids for projects using their Joplin, Missouri headquarters address.
Confederation Park
Preferred design option for Confederation Skatepark
Latest News - Confederation Park Skatepark - The city has picked its Skatepark Champions for this project. Online meeting presented the info collected from the Champions and earlier surveys. It included the breakdown of survey results which strongly favoured transition, hence the tranny heavy park concepts - ETA Late 2026. Open House on Dec 3rd. See Below for details.
New Parks near Portland St & Audley St - The city outright states there is NOT room for a Full Skateboard Park, Outdoor Pool, Full Basketball court etc. It DOES include wording for a skate spot or dot. SURVEY out until DEC 16.
Oakwood - St Clair Parks Plan - Lots to go through here but it states "Fairbank Memorial Park has been identified as a good candidate for a skatepark pending further investigation and community engagement." Also, there is a skate dot in Ramsden Park, WTF!
I swear I heard about a skate feature going in here 20yrs ago. Or was that one of my skatepark dreams?
Bartley Park Skate Dot - Park updates with a Playground and Skate Dot. Survey out until July 2. Three concepts for a skate dot; QP spot, Ledge spot or Hybrid of the two. I'm most concerned about the current specs. A 3' QP in a small space might not be the appropriate size and the approach/exit on the ledge spot looks tight. They use my photos in the survey so I have reason to insert myself😜 ETA - Summer 2026
Apted Park in Etobicoke - "The design will be developed through community engagement and is proposed to include a skatepark, volleyball court, a multipurpose sports field, pathways and benches." - ETA End of 2026 (This honestly looks like a terrible location for a big skatepark. I'm glad the project lead knows skateparks....and the project lead has been changed. Why can't Toronto keep some continuity in these projects)
Earl Bales Skatepark - Probably the best known current project. The design is finalized. Construction Started Aug, 2025 ETA -probably Winter 2025. Follow the build HERE.

Eglinton Park Skate Spot - ETA Delayed to Fall 2025 & since they've only cleared some brush as of Sept 6, 2025, I think it's gonna be later.
1 of 3 similar options. All 3 have a mini.
Digging deep into the CENTENNIAL PARK MASTER PLAN, the city acknowledges the need for a skatepark but are comparing CP with other potential sites in Ward 2. ETA between 2024 & 2028lol
Wallace Emerson - New Bowls and Seasonal Loop are done but the Community Centre is delayed - ETA Summer 2026 There were 3 concepts & it appears 2 separate bowls are being built.
Feature 10 - Skateboard Zone.
Elizabeth Simcoe Skate Spot - Update - Survey now closed with 277 Responses!!! Based on the feedback, the project is going PIP but will be delayed to Summer Late Fall 2026. 1 of 3 metal ramp concepts. I'm pushing for concrete.
Update Feb 2025 - Some changes to the timeline but at least they have started. Hiring of design team is (supposedly) underway. Watch for a survey this Fall (2025) now Winter 2026. ETA Late Fall 2026.
Small Skate Dot - ETA 2027 2029
North Park - 578 Rustic Road - Informal Skate Feature appears to be in the final design. ETA pushed back to Summer Fall 2026 #3 - Informal Skate Features.
Projects to watch
Both are pretty close to the new Eglinton skatepark due this year (2025) so I don't expect anything big but a Dot or uncapped ledges would be cool.
Glen Long Park - now that I know about the Ramsden Dot, there's opportunity to request dots or skatable ledges/ rails in sport court projects.
If you're wondering why a 'Skate Feature' get cuts from the final design, it's the feedback the city gets or does not get. The general public usually opposes Skate Features and the Skaters don't fill out the surveys. If you're wondering why Toronto projects are of mixed quality, it seems like it's really up to the project lead and wether they care about the quality of the skate features or not. It's not for lack of trying by local advocates.
The pickleballers are responding to surveys Five time more than the skaters. And the info is not getting out to the 'skatepark users'. We gotta fight for ourselves. The Toronto Skatepark Strategy is doing a lot to get features included around the city but skaters need to loudly support a project. Show Up or Shut Up, as they say.
Update - Boxing Day 2024.
And show up you did!!! The Elizabeth Simcoe Skate Spot Survey had 277 respondents and now the spot is going concrete!
Finished Projects!
New Park on Brimorton Dr - Near Markham Rd, there is some kind of skate feature included in the final design. It's done now! Feature 9 - Large open lawn/passive play skating feature (informal space for skateboarding and rollerblading with small concrete slopes) - (Alright - mystery solved, it's like 3 sidewalk bumps beside a manny-able ledge. The 'public' side is skate stopped. 2026 ETA was for phase 2. Photos HERE)
Trimmer Skate Spot - North East Scarborough's Rouge River Community Recreation Centre is open. The spot is ok. Click HERE for more. This should be fun.
